There are over 100 buildings on the Île de la Cité, including the Palais de Justice and the church of Sainte-Chapelle – which is the remains of the mediaeval Palais de la Cité. Either of these could, with no small justification, be described as famous. But the most famous of them all is the Cathedral of Nôtre Dame.
